Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai Wednesday expressed anguish over the death of a cancer patient Abdul Qayoom Wani due to restriction on the highway.
“The ban on the civilian movement on the highway is highly condemnable and speaks the volumes of lawlessness which is prevailing in Kashmir,” Sehrai said in a statement.
He also denounced the thrashing of a magistrate along with his employees by the government forces on the highway. “Even legal authorities not spared by the government forces.”
“It is literally lawlessness like situation going on in Kashmir where critical patients and ambulances not allowed to move freely and the situation has gone to the extend where sub-divisional magistrate being roughed up by army personnel apart from civilian innocent thrashings which is a daily affair,” the pro-freedom leader said, adding that such a behaviour has become a norm as the same has been committed with full impunity.
