SHOPIAN: Transport department Shopian on Tuesday seized documents of 45 drivers for violation of traffic rules in the district.
To tackle the traffic jam problem in Shopian, assistant regional transport officer Shopian Moazym Ali along with team of officials including inspector Irfan Ahmad started a massive drive to curb the law violators. The documents of 45 drivers according to the office were seized for violation traffic rules. The officials said that the action against all the traffic violators will be taken.
While appealing the general people to help the department to meet traffic problems, ARTO urged people to work in cooperation with department and stop abusing law. “Once a person parks his vehicle at wrong place he paves way to the problems of hundreds of people. If they don’t stop these violations then we have no option but to take strict action against them,” he said.
On Tuesday, ARTO along with other officials visited different areas of town and held deliberations with people, shopkeepers and general public. He advised people to cooperate with traffic police and transport department to tackle the traffic problems in the district. “Those who are driving vehicles without licences and incomplete documents have to face the music. The parents will also be booked who let their minors to drive vehicles especially scooters and bikes,” he said.
