Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Tuesday expressed concern over the continued detention of its chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and handing him to NIA.

The party vice chairman Saleem Haroon in a statement said: “Malik has been kept at some unknown place by NIA for unknown reasons, which is a serious cause of concern to Kashmiris especially to his family.”

He said that “such inhuman and frustrated acts of India are not going to yield any results for India as they are bound to fail. Yasin Malik is a brave, revolutionary and dynamic leader of Kashmiri nation who is being followed by hundreds and thousands of people for his thoughts, ideology and sacrifices”.

“Yasin Malik in pursuit to freedom of Jammu Kashmir and for the right of self-determination during the last three decades has faced the brutality – but has never succumbed to anybody’s dictates,” Haroon said, adding, “India must read the writhing on wall that Kashmir people want nothing less than freedom and it is in the interest of India to grant them this right as soon as possible.”

Saleem Haroon also condemned the shifting of Jamat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Fayaz, vice president of Jamiat-e-Ahlehadith Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri and other pro-freedom leaders to outside Jammu Kashmir jails.

While terming the ongoing election process as a “drama”, Saleem Haroon appealed people to stay away from these so-called polls.
