EVM training for female polling staff held at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: The Second Phase training cum demonstration of EVM-VVPAT for female polling staff started on Tuesday here under the supervision of District Election Officer, Angrez Singh Rana.

ARO-51 Kishtwar (ADC) Pawan Parihar, ACD Kishtwar, Anil Chandail, Master Trainer Pardeep Koul besides female polling staff remained present during the training session.

The DEO informed that an exclusive women polling station has been set to encourage their active participation in the upcoming elections. “The Women polling station has been setup at Islamia Higher Secondary School Kishtwar (AC 51 – Kishtwar) where both the polling staff and the immediate security staff will be female personnel” he said.


Addressing the participants, the DEO asked the female polling officials to get fully acquainted with the handling procedure of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).

Meanwhile, the Master trainer Pardeep Koul imparted training to the female polling staff and briefed them about the functioning of EVM/VVPAT machines.

The Sealing of Control Unit and VVPAT were also shown to participants at the training programme.
