Srinagar: Chief Education Officer Ganderbal Thursday barred school teachers in the district from taking their phones into classrooms saying it “hampers the academic process”.
An order issued by CEO Ganderbal, Naheed Neelofar said, “It has come to the notice of the undersigned that most of the school teachers are using mobile phones in their classes during teaching time, which hampers the academic process”.
“In order to stop this practice and to make teachers accountable, it is enjoined upon all the principals, zonal education officers and headmasters that all teachers should handover their mobile phones to them before entering class,” reads the order.
“If any teacher is found violating this order, strict action shall be initiated against the teacher and head of the institution as well,” it added.
