School kid killed in clashes after polling

Baramulla: Class 7 student Owais Mushtaq Mir, resident of Mandigam village in Qaziabad area of Langate Handwara, died of injuries sustained in clashes with government forces on Thursday evening. He succumbed on way to Langate hospital.
Clashes had erupted in Watergam Rafiabad, under police district Sopore, when local youths began pelting stones on polling staff in the evening.
Clashes also broke out in Brath village of Sopore in the evening after polling ended. Government forces were firing tear smoke shells at protestors there when this report was filed late in the evening.
A lady and two children were injured in Palhalan by pellets earlier during the day, Block Medical Officer Pattan Dr Masrat Iqbal confirmed to Kashmir Reader.
