SRINAGAR: Centre for Hospitality and Tourism, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) on Wednesday organised one day workshop on life skills.
According to a statement, the workshop covered wide areas of life skills including self awareness, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, creative thinking, interpersonal relationship, effective communication, empathy, managing emotions, and dealing with stress.
Vice Chancellor, Prof Javed Musarrat congratulated the centre for conducting the workshop. He said that life skills are associated with managing and living a better quality of life and help individuals accomplish their ambitions and live life to the fullest potential.
Dean School of Management Studies Prof Naseem Ahmed on the occasion enriched the participants with the useful knowledge and effective execution of the life skills for personal and professional development.
Prof Naseem highlighted the importance of life skills for effective decision making. He said that life skills help in finding new ways of thinking and problem solving and build confidence both in spoken skills and for group collaboration and cooperation.
Amir Malik, faculty member of the centre gave a presentation on important issues in life skill education.
Earlier Asrar Gaus, Director of the centre delivered the welcome address and highlighted the theme of the workshop.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Prof G M Malik Dean of Students and Dr Roomina Rashid Head department of English.
More than 50 students, scholars and faculty members of various departments participated in the day long workshop.
