Srinagar: Mutahida Majlis Ulama (MMU) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday paid tributes to the Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) on his death anniversary.
Calling the contributions of Imam Abu Hanifa toward Fiqah and Islamic jurisprudence as a shining light for the generations to come, Mirwaiz in a statement said Imam Azam spent his entire life making efforts for the understanding of religion to the common masses easy and gave them the credit for the clarity of thought on Fiqah and religion today.
Mirwaiz said the learning of Hazrat Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) attracted the attention of students and scholars. “Young and old learned from him,” he said, adding it was the genius of Imam Abu Haneefa that he left behind a legacy of jurisprudence and the broadest principles that practically any jurist at any time and any place could use.
