SHOPIAN: A youth was killed in a scuffle over a water canal near Homhuna village of the district Monday.
Local sources said that Adfar Ahmad Parra, son of Abdul Rasheed Para, resident of Homhuna village was killed in a scuffle with Bilal Ahmad, a resident of neighbouring village, Vurpora.
Police said they have registered a case and started investigation. A police official said that preliminary report suggests that the youth was killed with a sharp edged metal, probably knife.
Villagers from Vurpora and Homhuna said that the incident has no relation to any conflict between the two villages. They said it was the conflict between the two landowners, not the villages.
