SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has expressed shock over the demise of senior Jama’at-e-Islami leader and a prominent social activist Ghulam Nabi Faridabadi of Jammu.
In a statement issued here, Geelani recalled his association with Faridabadi and described him as “a noble soul, an affectionate human being, a caring citizen, a religious and literary legend and an inspirational freedom lover”.
“Despite hostile environment and a non-Muslim dominated town of Jammu, he worked very hard and tirelessly to propagate the message and manifesto of Jama’at-e-Islami,” Hurriyat (G) chairman said.
“Fariabadi Sahib has two of his three sons martyred in the present freedom struggle,” Geelani said and expressed condolence with the deceased’s wife and son and prayed for courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
