Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai on Sunday paid tributes to the militants killed in an encounter with the government forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian and said the precious human blood is being spilled in Kashmir every day.
“Every day Kashmiris are getting killed and becoming target of the unresolved Kashmir conflict, which is very sad and painful. The Kashmir conflict is leaving behind tragic stories, wails and screams and thousands of untold stories,” Sehrai said in a statement.
He said: “Unfortunately, everyone watches all these happenings as mute spectators. No one comes to the rescue of people and it looks that humanity no longer exists in the world. The international community is also turning deaf ears towards the Kashmir issue which otherwise can raise questions on the brazen human rights violations in Kashmir.”
“History testifies the fact that the international disputes are solved on negotiating tables and not by waging war on the innocent people,” he added.
The pro-freedom leader further said that Kashmiri people had always sought a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute through dialogue, “but New Delhi has been adamant that it would settle the issue through military might”.
“It is the high time the UN Secretary General take a step forward and appoint a special representative to explore a viable solution to this festering conflict and ensure lasting peace and stability in the region,” he said..
