BANDIPORA: Continuing its series of actions against drug trafficking in the district, special Nakas were placed at locations prone to drug trafficking on the directions of SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik.
Eleven cases have so far been registered against drug traffickers since the start of the present year, and 11 accused have been arrested.
Two cases of drug trafficking were registered in sub-division Bandipora in which three persons were apprehended.
Similarly, six cases of drug trafficking were registered in sub-division Sumbal and five persons involved were apprehended.
In Hajin area, which is prone to the menace, three cases against drug traffickers were registered and three persons were apprehended.
The total recovery in these cases was: charas, 91.970 kgs; Codeine and Maxicoff-T bottles, 4,380; bhang leaves, 9 kgs; brown sugar, 970 gms; heroin, 30gms, and Spasmoproxyon plus, 1008 tablets (42 strips).
In these cases, a total of 11 persons were arrested and 11 cases against the accused stand registered in their respective police stations under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
