Baramulla: Government forces on Friday morning conducted two search operations in villages in two different districts of north Kashmir.
Sources said that government forces including army’s 52RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary CRPF cordoned off Tarzoo village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district in the wee hours of Friday and conducted door-to-door searches.
Sources said the operation was launched after receiving information of presence of some militants in the area. However, no militants were found and later the operation was called off peacefully.
Similarly another search operation was launched by the army’s 28 RR, SOG of police and paramilitary CRPF troops in village Darpora in Lolab valley of Kupwara district.
The forces searched several houses of the village but later called off the operation peacefully.
A police officer said that there was suspicious movement observed in the area, so the forces launched an operation.
