Srinagar: Dr Mohammad Yousuf Chaproo, who retired as Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Kashmir on March 31, last week, passed away early Friday morning following a massive heart attack at his Ghazaliabad, HMT residence.
He was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared as brought dead. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Hundreds of mourners including his erstwhile colleagues and other officials attended the Jinaza at Gazaliabad and later another Jinaza prayer was prayed at his hometown in Sopore where he was given burial in his ancestral graveyard amidst sighs and sobs.
The death has been widely mourned in social and official circles. Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary to Government, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Transport Departments, described Dr Chaproo, as focussed in his work. “He was dynamic and result oriented, tolerant to others’ criticism, respectful to his superiors in service and he groomed his subordinates,” he said.
Meanwhile, a condolence meeting was on Friday held in the office of Principal Secretary Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Transport Departments Dr Asgar Hussain Samoon, to condole the demise of Dr Mohammad Yosuf Chaproo, Ex-Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir.
A condolence meeting was also held at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry Talab Tillo here wherein a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
