SRINAGAR: As part of celebrations of Punctuality Week, an inter-college symposium on the theme, “Punctuality: a key to success”, was organized on Wednesday at SP college here.
According to a statement issued here, the programme, attended by a good number of students, started with the recitation of Holy Quran.
Principal of the college, Dr Khurshid Ahmad Khan congratulated the organising committee for organizing the symposium and highlighted the need to organize such type of programmes. He urged the students to dream big, backed by a strong, sustained, intense and burning desire to fulfill it, paying the price for it in terms of time, effort, resoluteness, punctuality and single-minded concentration.
The participants made very impressive speeches and in different hues and emotional shades put forward their arguments regarding punctuality and the value of time to break the monotony of the programme. Mubashir Karim mesmerized the audience by singing a melodious song on life and time.
The programme was followed by a talk on punctuality by Ajaz-ul-Haque, senior faculty member at EMMRC, University of Kashmir. He urged the students to be punctual in their lives and combine efforts and ability in order to touch the heights of excellence.
Professor Mairaj-ud-Din Sheikh stressed on the fact that college is the platform through which students can get an opportunity to manifest their hidden talents and abilities. He encouraged the students to participate in such programmes which do play a pivotal role in their overall development.
Earlier, Prof Nadia Shah gave a brief insight about the programme and Prof Zahida Naseem presented the rationale of the programme.
