Srinagar Apr 3: The 4th semester undergrad students from a Srinagar government Women’s College, which was running from Amar Singh College premises have resented the college administration’s move to displace them to the college’s new campus and elsewhere saying it was “not affordable” for them.
Scores of the aggrieved female students who held a strong protest at Srinagar’s press enclave said that the Nawa Kadal College where some of them are being “forcibly” shifted “does not even have the subjects we have opted”.
The college authorities have also not kept available the transport facility for them, they added.
As the institution did not have its own building then, the 2017 batch students from Government Women’s College, Zakura have been studying at the temporary campus at AS College, Gogji Bagh.
“They have enrolled the 5th and 6th semester students at AS College itself, but are asking us to study at either the Zakura campus or Nawa Kadal college. Both are not affordable for us as we have to travel from far flung areas,” a female student said.
“They have not even given us the transport facility yet,” another student alleged.
