Baramulla: Four days after a chemist in Baramulla town was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his shop, his family is seeking answers on who killed him and why.
On Saturday, unknown gunmen shot dead Arjumand Majeed Bhat, son of late Abdul Majeed Bhat, of Khawajabagh Baramulla, at his medical shop in Baramulla. The killing created panic in the market. No militant outfit has taken responsibility for the killing.
A family member told Kashmir Reader that they are unable to understand who killed Arjumand.
“We were shocked when someone called us that Arjumand is no more, some one fired upon him at his shop. We reached the place, but police took the body in their custody. We are shocked, we want to know who killed him and why,” a family member said.
The bereaved family appealed militant outfits to take the responsibility if they have killed him and let them know why.
“Please take the responsibility and inform us why, if not then also announce it. Tight lips are raising different questions,” they said.
A large number of people visited the residence on his Fateh Khawani on Tuesday.
Arjumand was father of two kids and was active in holding de-addiction rallies and seminars in Baramulla.
A police officer said that they are investigating the killing.
