SRINAGAR: In the ongoing 26th State Football Championship 2018-19, two quarter final matches were played at Synthetic Turf (TRC) Srinagar on Monday. The first match was played between DFA Srinagar and Lonestar Kashmir FC. Both teams enthralled audience by their spectacular moves. The first goal was scored by Farhan of DFA Srinagar in 14th minute of the second half while the 2nd goal was also scored by DFA Srinagar’s Bilal Ahmad in the 20th minute of the second half. In the 30th minute of the second half, Faizan of Lonestar Kashmir FC scored a goal. The players of Lonestar Kashmir FC tried their best to equalise but failed, thus suffering loss at the hands of DFA Srinagar by 2-1. The second quarter final match was played between J&K Bank XI and Real Kashmir FC. Both teams tired to take lead but no one was able to score a goal in the first half. In the second half, Real Kashmir goalkeeper Zaid made some brilliant saves which was applauded by the spectators and kept them spellbound. The game ended goalless. Fifteen minutes extra time was given and no club was able to score. In the end, tiebreaker rule was applied in which Real Kashmir FC defeated J&K Bank by 7-6 in the sudden death. In Jammu chapter competition first match, the Sports Saviours defeated Saink Colony by 3-0 goals. The scorers include Vinay, Pianav and Aditya. In the 2nd match, DFA Leh defeated DFA Kathua 4-3 goals.
