Three students among five injured by stray dogs in Uri

Baramulla: Three minor students and two middle-aged men were injured left injured by a pack of stray dogs in Uri town of Baramulla district in north Kashmir on Tuesday.
An eyewitness said that a pack of stray dogs attacked several people in the Uri market. In the incident, three students and two elderly persons were bitten, locals said, adding that the canines have spread a reign of terror among schoolchildren in the area.
The injured persons were shifted to Sub-District-hospital Uri for the treatment.
They were identified as Nargis Bano, 18, Sayra Bano, 8, Abdul Wahid, 10, Reyaz Ahmed, 45, and Ashok Kumar, 40.
According to a local resident, the dog bite incidents were reported from Boniyar and Uranbowa areas of the town earlier also, however, there was no action from authorities despite repeated pleas by locals.
