Who is a woman? What does it mean to be a woman? Is she a mother -daughter -sister -wife? Or she is more than that? What is her role in society and how does it play out in various domains? Does she face oppression in many ways? Why? Is feminism an answer to all problems that she is facing? Dear women , you are much more than you and world think of yet you often underestimate your abilities and sell yourself at very short.
Women are expected to scale greater heights , give birth, cook, clean, take care of the children, and earn a living in fact and continue to fight for equality and rights because they are strong .Dear women your courage, modesty ,strength, intelligence ,intuition ,kindness and so on are the power that defines you, that propels you forward in life, that makes you most powerful and courageous women everywhere, you must know you are every bit as strong and resilient as men. Undoubtedly, you can become an inspirational role model for those who aspire to affect meaningful change.
When the Dalai Lama said, “the world will be saved by the western woman,” he was acknowledging the growing power of women have to influence global change. Of course , changing the world doesn’t require women to become more like men; rather it demands that women own and exercise what have long been regarded as their leadership liabilities sensitivity, perceptiveness, connectedness and compassion because those feminine leadership attributes, when combined with the strengths of men, measurably improve the outcomes of the decisions being made.
Anderson has well said “feminism isn’t about making women strong, women are already strong, and it’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”
Women have been strong since the point of inception however only until recently has society started to understand the true strength of this gender. Society’s views are finally changing, little by little but yet, so many of us are disempowered.
Teach your daughters to worry less about fitting into glass slippers and more about shattering glass ceiling teach them to be strong and to say “yes” you can travel the world and teach women empowerment courses and the importance of staying in educational fields. You can learn self-defense and learn how to shoot a gun, you can fight harder to enforce tougher rape chargers, you can cook barefoot in the kitchen and can earn a good and healthy salary too, you can fight in the military, climb mountains, run marathons, give birth, and run for president. You can continue to do all of these things because you are strong and never give up. You have always been strong and have always been able to be successful, it is society that has hindered you and is still hindering.
The world has degraded the esteem of feminism by making them a show piece a tool of marketing and is making money at a rate of humiliating women. The exploitation of women on mass media (internet ,television and advertisements) have been objectified and in many ways insulted and abased .Today women demands more independence , the type of women who can fight against social rules for their own self esteem , dignity ,freedom , self -sustenance and stand hard for a successful life full of integrity a lady full of smartness, overloaded with courage, who can stand in her own decision and doesn’t follow the crowd for her decisions and commitment.
Dear women , don’t plead for prettiness, fame and love; ask for respect, dignity .You have to stand tough and struggle for your living and all good which will make you shine as a bold person because beauty catches attention but character catches heart. Speak your mind, follow your passion, and resist violence and discrimination. The only ornament you can wear is your courage, boldness, strength and modesty. You are not here to please anyone; you are your own light and story but the choice is yours.
