BUDGAM: The authorities on Saturday sealed the district office of Jama’at-e-Islami in Wadipora area of Budgam district.
The office has been sealed on the Government of India’s directions to ban the prominent socio-religious organisation. Earlier, scores of Jama’at leaders and activists have been arrested in a massive crackdown across Kashmir.
An official said that the district administration Budgam accompanied by police teams sealed the district office of Jama’at-e-Islami in Budgam.
Earlier, police in Budgam arrested almost fifty activists of Jama’at who were later sent to Central Jail Srinagar for allegedly violating peace and harmony.
