After classes, KU defers opening of hostels

SRINAGAR: With class work at the University of Kashmir (KU) to start from March 5, the university has announced that its hostels will also open the same day instead of March 1. The KU on Wednesday said that it will resume class work on March 5 instead of March 1 as proposed earlier.
Consequent to this announcement, Provost of Boys Hostel at KU, Prof G N Khaki has issued a notification saying that the hostels also will open the same day the class work resumes.
“…all the students who are residing in different boys’ hostels of the university are informed through this notice that hostels will open 5th of March, 2019 instead of 1st of March, 2019 as notified earlier,” reads the notification.
An official at the KU told Kashmir Reader that girls’ hostels at the varsity will also open on March 5 instead of March 1.
