SRINAGAR: To pay homage to slain DySP Aman Kumar, a wreath laying ceremony was held for him at District Police Lines, Srinagar.
Civil & Police Officers led by DGP J&K Police Dilbagh Singh, IGP Ops CRPF Zulfikar Hassan, Div Com Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP Kashmir S P Pani, IG CRPF Ravideep Sahai, Range DIsG, and DC Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains and paid rich tributes to the slain officer for his “supreme sacrifice” made in the line of duty.
Among others who paid floral tributes include senior officers of CAPF, SSP Srinagar Haseeb Mughal, SSP Security Imtiyaz Hussain, SSP SBK, Showket Hussain Shah, SP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, SSP anti-highjacking Srinagar Harmeet Singh, other officers and personnel of the district police and other forces.
DySP Aman Kumar is survived by aged parents, wife Sarla Devi and 6 year-old-son Arya. He was a 2011 batch KPS officer who was leading from the front in this operation.
“DySP Aman Kumar was known for his simplicity, plain speaking and thorough professionalism and for his determination and valour. In a short period of time, he had earned love, respect and appreciation of the locals in the area for his helpful nature and professionalism,” a police statement said.
