Kulgam shuts to protest militant killings

Srinagar: Kulgam district in southern Kashmir on Monday is observing a complete shutdown against the killing of three militants in a gunfight with government forces on Sunday.

Witnesses said that all the shops and business establishments are shut in the district while public transport is off the roads.

They said that forces have been deployed in sensitive areas of the district in strength to stop protests.

Three Jaish militants, a Deputy SP of Jammu and Kashmir Police and an army man were killed in a gunfight in Turigm village of Yaripora area of the district on Sunday.
