DDC Anantnag convenes introductory cum review meeting with Revenue officials

SRINAGAR: The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag Khalid Jahangir (KAS) today convened introductory cum review meeting with officials of Revenue Department, Anantnag. The meeting was attended by ACDs, ACR, SDMs & all Tehsildars of district Anantnag.
In the outset, the District Development Commissioner highlighted the role and responsibilities of the Revenue functionaries. The DDC stated that other than routine work Tehsildars have to monitor developmental works, supervise the functioning of other Line Departments.
The DDC directed the Tehsildars to maintain headquarters, remain present in their respective jurisdictions and ensure punctuality of their subordinate staff. Patwaries to remain stationed minimum three days a week in their halqas, so that common people may not suffer. Tehsildars were directed to increase public outreach and ensure quick redressal of public grievances. Mutations must be attested in field by conducting regular camps at village level, with per village minimum five mutations. Taking cognizance of overcharging of fares by drivers, the DDC directed Tehsildars that in collaboration with ARTO look into the matter and ensure that no overcharging of fares is carried and strict action be taken against the violators. He further stressed for, proper maintenance and early updation of Revenue records including Jamabandi & Girdawaris. Also digitalization of land records be taken up on priority. DDC further directed to intensify the anti encroachment drive so that retrieved state land could be utilized for public purposes. He sought polling booth wise details of additions/ deletions during special summary revisions. Besides, Physical verification of polling stations must be completed at an earliest and survey of PWD voters according to their type of disability be made so they could be provided support system as per nature of their disability.
The DDC stressed for proper implementation of Public Service Guarantee Act and strict adherence of time limit in providing services to the general public. Tehsildars were directed to be responsive and maintain public friendly approach and ensure full commitment and dedication.
