SRINAGAR: A two day Session of the general council of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) under the chairmanship of Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azeem Mattu concluded on Friday with unanimously passing the four resolutions.
This was the fourth session of the general council. The majority of corporators were maintained in the corporation hall and 100 percent listed business was completed.
According to a statement issued here, four resolutions that were adopted unanimously by SMC general council are: a) Seeking foolproof defence of Article 35-A, Article 370, b) Appeal to Government of India to ensure safety of Kashmiri students, c) Operational allowances for corporators, and d) Expediting emergent works through rate structures.
Furthermore, issues pertaining to public importance were discussed at length, the statement said.
Commissioner SMC Tariq Ali, Additional Commissioner Nazir Ahmed Baba, Joint Commissioner Adm Ab Majeed Raina, Financial Advisor SMC Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Secretary SMC Hilal Dewaani and various senior officers of the Corporation, public and journalists were present on the occasion.
The session was adjourned peacefully and shall resume on Saturday (today) at 11am.
