SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Union Council (JKTUC) Tuesday staged a protest here against attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and on students outside the valley.
Scores of JKTUC members assembled in Press Enclave and chanted slogans like “Provide protection to the Darbar Move employees” and “Stop harassing Kashmiri students”.
The protesters said that they condemn the attacks and threats to Kashmiri students studying outside state.
“The Darbar Move employees in Jammu are feeling insecure as the miscreants are throwing stones upon their government residential quarters in Jammu,” President JKTUC, Abdul Majeed Parray said.
“We are demanding both the state and central government to provide protection to the students who are studying in other Indian states, Darbar move employees and traders who are doing their business outside the state.”
The protesters requested Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and ensure safety of Kashmiris.
