Ask trade union bodies to support them
Srinagar: The Kashmiri employees putting up in Jammu for Darbar Move have decided to boycott their duties from Monday against attacks on them.
The decision comes after several Kashmiri families were attacked by arsonists and rightwing mobsters in Jammu over the past few days in which several vehicles were also torched in several parts after Pulwama attack.
Ovais Wani, president Darbar Move employees Federation told Kashmir Reader that the employees fearing for the safety of their families have taken this decision saying that they fear their families won’t be safe if the male members will leave for duties.
He said that the employees are facing dearth of essential commodities in Jammu and appealed the divisional administration to make arrangements for them. He said they want the government also to ensure their families are shifted to Srinagar under proper security ahead of opening of educational institutions in the Valley.
Wani said employees in campus offices in Srinagar will also hold protest in Srinagar against the attacks and said J&K employees bodies and employees from Jammu should also stand by them to express solidarity.
