Srinagar: Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) on Monday staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar against the continued attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and students outside the valley.
Scores of EJCC members assembled in press enclave and chanted slogans “Stop targeting Kashmiri people living in India” and “Give protection to Kashmiri people, students and traders ”.
Chairman of Employees Joint Consultative Committee’ (EJCC), Ajaz Ahmad Khan said the Kashmiri students who are studying in colleges and universities in various Indian states have been facing harassment.
The Kashmiri traders and Kashmiri secretariat employees, he said, are facing a lot of problems.
“We demand the government to provide protection to all students, traders and Kashmiri employees,” Khan said.
The employees also demanded compensation to those whose property has been damaged.
The protesters requested the Home Minister of India Rajnath Singh and Governor Satya Paul Malik to look into the matter and ensure safety of Kashmiris.
