Srinagar: Jama’at on Saturday pledged its full support to a shutdown call given by Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Forum, Kashmir Economic Alliance and other trade bodies of the valley against the attacks on Kashmiris.
“The way the communalist elements have created an atmosphere to harass and intimidate the Muslims in Jammu is most condemnable,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“Jama’at wants the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) to frame a strategy and rise above its particular interests so as to discourage the anti-Kashmir activities in Jammu communalists,” he said.
He stated: “The local administration has failed to give any protection to these victims. The local police should not suppress the genuine voice of the Kashmiri people but safeguard their basic rights which is their main duty and goal.”
