DC Bandipora hands over motorized tricycles among specially-abled youth

BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Saturday distributed 15 motorized tricycles among specially-abled persons of the district.
The department of Social Welfare provided the motorised tricycles to five specially-abled persons each from three constituencies of Bandipora district on the recommendations of Rehabilitation Council of militancy victims.
Choudhary on the occasion said the initiative is for social inclusion of all the disadvantaged sections of the society so that they don’t have to be dependent on others. He interacted with the specially–abled persons and said that various state and centrally sponsored schemes are in place for the welfare of specially-abled persons and urged them to avail the benefit of these schemes.
He directed the Social Welfare Department to identify all the specially-abled persons in the district so that comprehensive measures are taken for their complete integration into the social set up and steps are taken to ensure their life is made easier and independent by providing various facilities.
