Srinagar: The Kashmiri employees stationed in Jammu for Darbar Move on Saturday said that the rightwing mobsters attacked their residential quarters in Janipur area of Jammu despite curfew in place.
An employee informed Kashmir Reader that the quarters belonging to Kashmiris were attacked by the frenzied mobs despite police being present at the spots.
He alleged that the arsonists at least 50 in number with iron rods and sharp knives entered the residential areas while police acting as spectators.
A local news gathering agency, GNS, carried a statement of Secretariat Employees Union and quoted its President Ghulam Rasool Mir as having said, “We condemn the attack and urge the administration to ensure safety of Kashmirs and those from the particular community.”
On Friday, the mobsters torched dozens of vehicles of the minority community in widespread violence during a shutdown call by Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries and supported by Bar Association against Thursday’s attack on CRPF in Lethpora Pulwama that left 49 CRPF personnel dead.
