Eight CRPF personnel injured in Lethpora militant attack

Srinagar: Several CRPF personnel are feared injured in a militant attack in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Sources said that Militants attacked a CRPF vehicle at Lethpora area of Awantipora on Srinagar-Jammu highway with an IED.

“The militants detonated an IED planted on the highway at Goripora in Lethpora area which was followed by intense firing,” they said.

The militant attack has left at least 8 CRPF personnel injured, according to news gathering agency ANI, who have been rushed to local hospitals for treatment.

The reports said that additional forces have  been rushed to the area and a search operation started to nab the attackers.

The attack has also left hundreds of vehicles stranded on the highway.
