SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has reiterated its demand for the return of mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guru, who were hanged and buried in Tihar jail, Delhi on February 11, 1984 and February 9, 2013 respectively.
A party delegation led by Engineer Farooq visited Trehgam, the native place of Maqbool Bhat and paid homage to both leaders whose nears and dears are still waiting for their mortal remains, a DFP spokesperson said in a statement.
He also paid tributes to the militants killed in a gunfight with government forces at Kellam.
“If India wants to end the ongoing bloodshed in the disputed region, it must shun its traditional stubbornness and come with a political approach so that the dispute is resolved according to the wishes of the people once for all,” the spokesperson said.
