Srinagar: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah on Friday paid tribute to its slain commander Abu Huraira from Pulwama and said “the martyrs are the hallmark of freedom struggle”.
“The sons of Kashmir are competing against Indian forces and rendering countless sacrifices. We are the heirs of such sacrifices,” a spokesperson of LeT Abdullah Ghaznavi quoted Shah as saying in a statement.
He said “the indigenous freedom struggle is progressively strengthening despite all efforts of India”.
Mehmood Shah thanked the people and appreciated them for their “support” by appearing in the funeral prayer of the slain militant in massive numbers despite the harsh cold weather.
“These are the examples of the living nations,” LeT chief said.
