SRINAGAR: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has strongly condemned the “murderous assault” on a youth Tawseef Ahmad Wani of Achagoza area of Pulwama who was “brutally beaten by forces in army camp”.
In a statement, Sehrai said, “Indian forces have unleashed a reign of terror in south Kashmir in particular where people were threatened, tortured, killed, properties ransacked, houses raided day and night and belongings vandalised and people asked people to report in forces’ camps then thrashed mercilessly”.
“Police and forces have created a sense of insecurity among innocent youths. Such coercive measures cannot dampen the passion or deter people from following their cherished mission. New Delhi is entirely responsible for pushing Kashmir youth to the wall and continues to ignore the basic reality and ground situation which can be gauged from the fact that highly educated students are quitting their studies and resorting to other means of resistance to fight the worst form of oppression,” he said.
