Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief on Friday appealed people to boycott the upcoming state and parliamentary polls in J&K, saying “the elections are the main cause of delay in resolution of Kashmir dispute”.

In a statement, Malik stated: “Elections and power politics has increased our miseries and delayed the resolution of Kashmir issue.”

“… leadership of government employees and trade unions have played a shameful role from 90’s and betrayed the national cause of Kashmiris,” he said while taking a dig at employee’ leaders who have joined politics.

He further said that “from 90’s we have seen almost every leader, leading government employees starting his career in the name of employee welfare, supporting peoples cause, working for the human rights of Kashmiris and so on but as soon as they get an opportunity, they take no time in switching over their loyalty and land into Indian lap for the lust of power, money and other materialistic things”.

The statement further said that JKLF chief expressed grief over the demise of Ghulam Hassan Zahid – brother of a columnist Z G Muhammad.
