Nine youth arrested during nocturnal raids in Pulwama

PULWAMA: Government forces picked up several youth during nocturnal raids in several villages of Pulwama tonight.
Police said that the youth have been detained for their alleged involvement in stone pelting incidents.
Sources told Kashmir Reader that government forces carried out night raids in Arigam and Arihal villages of Pulwama and arrested as many as nine youth from their homes.
According to local sources, eight youth from Arigam village and one from Arihal were arrested during the raids.
Seven of the youths have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganie, Showkat Ahmad Rather, Sabzar Ahmad Lone, Tariq Ahmad Dar, Shakeel Ahmad Rather, Hilal Ahmad and Muzaffar Ahmad Wani, all residents of Aarigam Pulwama.
Sources added that all the arrested youths have been locked up at Pulwama police station.
A senior police officer confirmed to Kashmir Reader that several youth were arrested by forces during raids from their homes in Pulwama villages for their alleged involvement in stone pelting related cases.
“We have identified the arrested youth through videography. They were hurling stones on forces in the area,” he said.
