BARAMULLA: Despite claiming India’s best and fastest high speed data network, poor data network experienced by Reliance Jio subscribers in Baramulla is becoming a nuisance.
According to subscribers, poor data service in Baramulla town and its adjoining areas including main town, Kanispora and other surrounding areas has created inconvenience as many communication and business activities directly or indirectly depend on the Internet.
Complaining about its poor data services in the area, many subscribers said that the matter was brought into the notice of concerned authorities many times “but they do not pay any heed to it”.
“When the network was launched in Kashmir, I borrowed a connection only after standing in a long queue for hours together because of its bumper offers and at the same time they promised that its network will be strengthened in every part of Kashmir,” said a local subscriber from Baramulla town.
“When I reach home, I have to switch to other network just to avail data services, therefore, Jio subscribers here have to carry alternate SIM cards for internet purposes,” he added.
“See, Jio got its fame because of the internet bonus it provides to the customers and I subscribed to it for the same reason but, in my village, every Jio user feels bad because of its poor network and for me, being a student, it is very costly to maintain two SIM cards as I cannot pay hefty amounts,” said a student of Kanispora village.
The aggrieved subscribers appealed the Ministry of Telecommunication, GoI and the governor of the state to intervene into the matter.
“We appeal the ministry of telecommunication and governor to intervene into the matter so that the issue is resolved at the earliest,” they added.
