Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday condoled the demise of maternal uncle of incarnated resistance leader G. Mohammad Bhat.
In a statement, Geelani said that families of Kashmiri political prisoners – particularly those who are being kept thousands of miles away from their home – “have a very tough and painful life, and if some dear one departs in between, the pain and agony multiplies”.
Hurriyat chairman further stated that despite being political prisoners, “they are denied every right guaranteed in the national or international jail manual”.
“Revengeful attitude of the authorities has crossed every limit of heartlessness and insensitivity by prolonging their stay in jails through their judicial victimization,” he added.
“We share the grief with Gh. Mohammad Bhat and the bereaved family and pray for eternal peace of deceased and courage for the family to bear this painful loss,” he said.
The statement further added that Hurriyat (G) paid tributes to advocate Gh Mohideen Regu on his death anniversary, and said that “the case file was shelved, inquiry closed and those involved in his murder are roaming free”.
