KARGIL: A two day district level multilingual poetic sessions entitled Jashn e Jamhuriat-organized concluded on Wednesday here at Language Center New Academy Complex.
Organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, around 30 poets of Urdu, Balti, Purgi and Shina Dardi languages from across the district participated in the two day literary event.
During the poetic session held on the final day today Executive Councillor, for Rural Development Aga Syed Mujtaba was the chief guest.
The proceedings of the poetic session were presided over by senior Shina Dardi poet and writer Ghulam Ahmad Khan Jawan while as the poets who rendered their poetic compositions included Aga Syed Hadi Shah Aga, Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, Nissar Hussain Trespone, Muhammad Asgar Asvi, Ghulam Ahmad Khan Jawan, Nasir Hussain Khemat, Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Sibte Hassan Kaleem, Muhammad Ali Babaa, Aga Syed Kazim and Anwar Hussain Anwar.
Speaking on the occasion Aga Syed Mujtaba appreciated the Academy for organizing the poetic sittings in connection with Republic Day celebrations. He also congratulated the participating poets for their wonderful recitation of poetry.
The EC said that the present Council is fully committed to give impetus to the promotion and preservation of culture and literature in the district and all out support would be provided to the Academy in the conduct of its various activities in this regard.

Writers, poets, intellectuals, district officers, students and jam packed hall of cultural and literary enthusiasts were present on the occasion.
Balti writer Muhammad Sadiq Hardassi conducted the proceedings while as Cultural Activist Muhammad Abbass Skith delivered the vote of thanks.
