Srinagar: Muslim League on Wednesday condemned the “ill-treatment” of Kashmiri prisoners in Kotbalwal jail, alleging they are being “harassed”.
“They are being ill-treated and subjected to mental and physical torture there,” a party leader M. Rafiq Ganaie said in a statement.
He claimed that “prisoners are kept naked in open and are not allowed to perform their religious duties”.
He further stated that “they are lodged in small cells and with criminals deliberately, and because of this ill-treatment meted out to them they so frightened that they cannot even narrate their woes.”
Ganai appealed to HR bodies to take notice these violations.
