Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chief Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai on Tuesday reiterated his demand for the release of all Kashmiri political prisoners and said the silence of human rights bodies is questionable.
In a statement, Sehrai stated: “We call on the authorities to release all political prisoners. They are entitled to all the rights which are denied to them. The impact of prolonged imprisonment has deteriorated their health and it is important to know if they are given any kind of medical care facility, which is their fundamental right.”
He further said that “the prolonged detention of Kashmiri prisoners is the worst form of human rights violations”.
The statement further said that TeH chief condemned the detention and nocturnal raids on the residence of its leaders in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
