Srinagar: The employees working in various government departments of Kashmir valley on Sunday held a protest demonstration here demanding revocation of SRO 202.
The employees from various departments of Kashmir valley assembled here chanting slogans in favour of their demands.
Holding placards and banners in their hands which read “Stop exploiting youth – Revoke SRO-202”, “Revoke New Job Policy”, and “Grant National increment HRA, DA & other allowances due to us”.
“New job policy is discrimination with the employees of the state,” the protesters said.
Notably, under SRO No. 202, the appointees for the non-gazetted posts get a consolidated monthly pay for five years.
Mudasir Bashir, from Pulwama working as lecturer in a government higher secondary school said the employees who have been appointed under SRO-202 are not taking much benefits under this job policy.
He said the new job policy has been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir State only.
“We will be given DA, HRA and other benefits only after completing five years of service which is quite frustrating for the employees who have been appointed under SRO 202,” he said.
The protesters requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into matter and revoke SRO-202 Job Policy as soon as possible.
