Cleanliness drive held in Srinagar

Srinagar: A cleanliness drive was held at Housing Colony Chanapora here on Sunday which was organised by Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in coordination with Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC).
According to the statement, the drive was part of Sunday Shramdhaan activity. The programme was organised by Farooq Ahmad, Ward Officer.
The scores people from the local community participated in the programme. The number of activities including collection of garbage, cleaning of roads and distribution of dustbins among locals was conducted.
The masses were also informed about the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission and a pledge to maintain cleanliness was also taken.
Sunday Shramdhaan is a nationwide initiative to maintain and practice cleanliness and similar activities were also carried out in other cities throughout India simultaneously.
