Hurriyat (M), ML pay tributes to militants killed in Budgam, Shopian

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muslim League (ML) on Wednesday paid tributes to the militants killed in separate encounters at Budgam and Shopian with the government forces, saying our young generation is pushed to the wall “which forces them to pick arms”.
In a statement, the spokesperson of Hurriyat (M) stated: “to protect these sacrifices, people should show steadfastness and stand united”.
He alleged that youth are summoned to Police Stations “were they are put to physical and mental torture. Many are arrested and detained under PSA”.
Hurriyat termed the silence adopted by the world community over Kashmir issue as “unfortunate”, and stated that lingering Kashmir dispute is not only the threat to peace for sub-continent but entire south Asian region.
“Time demands world community to impress upon New Delhi for the resolution of this oldest dispute for everlasting peace in region,” the statement said.
It further said that the Hurriyat condemned the use of pellets on the photojournalists and said that “it is highly undemocratic”.
The amalgam also denounced the forces action at Habba Kadal “injuring several youth”.
ML spokesperson in a statement said: “Our brave youth are sacrificing their lives for the Kashmir cause”.
He said the way youth are fighting for their birth right, right to self-determination is highly commendable.
“No power on Earth can deter us from our much-cherished goal of right to self-determination,” he added.
