Srinagar: Intense protests rocked Habba Kadal area of downtown Srinagar after a local youth was hit by a stone thrown allegedly by a CRPF personnel.
The youth identified as Muhammad Younis son of Bashir Ahmed was critically injured and shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.
The family of Younis said that a CRPF man lobbed a brick at Younis leaving him critically injured while he was out to buy vegetables.
Sanjay Sharma, the CRPF spokesperson, did not respond to calls from Kashmir Reader. However a local news outlet quoted him terming the incident “unfortunate”. He said that a group of five to six youth pelted stones at the bunker near Habba Kadal, while they were being chased away, a youth slipped and fell down.
The injured youth, was according to reports, shifted to SKIMS hospital in the evening, as his condition is said to be critical.
According to doctors at SMHS hospital, Younis had sustained head injury, with a fracture in head bone
Doctors at the SKIMS said they are monitoring his condition.
