SMC officials booked for conniving into permission violation

Srinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Kashmir has registered a case (FIR) against three officials of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) for conniving into violation of a residential building permission into commercial structures.
An ACB spokesman said that SMC had issued a building permission (residential) to one Ghulam Qadir Sofi of Rehmatabad Qamarwari in Sep 2009. Sofi had passed away at the time, and, the ACB said, his son Mohammad Arif Sofi subsequently constructed two commercial structures in clear violation to the norms and sketch of building permission, in connivance with municipal officials.
The ACB has registered an FIR under section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 and Section 120-B against Arif and three SMC officials, Abdul Salam then ward officer ( now retired), Ghulam Rasool Dar, then ward officer and Mohammad Yousuf , then Building Inspector.
