Massacre anniversaries: TeH chief, DFP pay tributes to victims

Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chief Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Saturday paid tributes to Gaw Kadal, Handwara and Kupwara massacre victims on their anniversaries, and in a statement said it is imperative upon the people of Kashmir to show commitment and steadfastness towards the Kashmir movement.
Sehrai said: “We are indebted to these pious sacrifices and it’s our religious and moral duty to safeguard these exemplary sacrifices collectively and to take a pledge to take this priceless struggle to its ultimate conclusion.”
“…29 years had passed since these massacres,” he said, “but neither has any probe been ordered nor has been the guilty punished.”
TeH chief appealed to the international community to probe these massacres.
DFP spokesperson in a statement said: “Great nations never forget their martyrs and it is our duty to safeguard their sacrifices.”
