Stolen cow recovered by police in Pattan

Baramulla: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a group of thieves who stole a cow from a farmer in Pattan area of this north Kashmir district.
Police in a statement said, “On Thursday, police post Mirgund received a written complaint from one Mohammad Hanief Sheikh of Hartrath Singpora stating therein that during the intervening night of 14/15 January 2019 some thieves entered into his cowshed and stole his cow.”
In this regard, a case under FIR number 07/2019 under section 457 380 RPC was registered in police station Pattan, police said.
Police said it constituted a team headed by DO Mirgund Syed Waseem Akram under the supervision of SHO Pattan Inspector Saleem who acted swiftly and during the course of investigation many suspected persons were brought to police station for questioning and finally three accused persons namely Gulam Hasan Sofi of Kawpora Trigam Sumbal, Zafar Abas Wani of Yakhmanpora Pattan and Dilawar Ahmad Dar of Zalpora Sumbal were arrested and on their identification and confession the stolen cow was recovered from their possession.
